New Warplanes Available in the Premium Shop

Pilots,

If you’ve studied the patch notes of the recently published 1.1 update carefully, then you probably already know that, with this version, five new premium Tier V planes have been added to the game. Alpha- and Beta-test Veterans will recognize four of these “newcomers," as they were available in test versions before release and now make their comeback to the game after some additional balancing. The other arrival is the funky-looking German Me 209 V4, which is completely new to World of Warplanes and should round out the rosters of its nation nicely.

As with all premium vehicles, you can of course acquire them in the game with Gold. However, if you want to skip having to buy or collect extra currency and simply want to pick up one of these planes conveniently for real money, then our Premium Shop is the place to go.

To give you an overview of these newly introduced Premium offers, we’ve prepared the table below where you can see the contents of each bundle as well as its price. If you need help picking the right plane for you, just scroll down to the section at the end of the article where you can find a little introduction on each aircraft’s history and in-game performance

P-40 M-105

A fantastic all-around fighter, the P-14’s six 12.7mm M2 machine guns provide excellent damage at close range. This aircraft has decent maneuverability, good armor, and an excellent top speed, making this plane a great middle ground between turn and burn and boom and zoom. Optional rockets reduce maneuverability, but add enough heavy-hitting power to take down attack aircraft and the occasional ground target.

Miles M.20

From drawing board to first prototype in less than 10 weeks, the Miles M.20 is a true example of wartime engineering going into overdrive. Eight .303 Brownings provide incredible damage output, but require getting in close to keep your shots on target. Fortunately, the combined airspeed and decent maneuverability make this possible.  Solid armor and engine power help to round out the M.20 as an all-around fighter that excels in taking down enemies in quick bursts.

XF4U-1

The first prototype of the famous F4U Corsair, the XF4U-1 displays many of the excellent characteristics of its older brother, the F4U-1. Exceptional airspeed and high hit points make this plane great for zooming into, and out of, tricky situations even if you do take a couple of hits. A truly exceptional roll rate of 130 degrees/second makes spinning away from rockets and bullets, as well as hugging terrain, a breeze. The XF4U-1 is a great fighter for players with steady aim and a need for speed.

IL-2 (mod)

The Ilyushin Sturmoviks were the most produced planes in aviation history. Playing a crucial role on the Eastern Front, the Il-2 Mod is a later design of the IL-2 which features a rear gunner. A combination of cannons, machine guns, rockets, and bombs make this plane live up to the name given to it by the troops, the “Flying Tank.” Low maneuverability and speed gears this plane for demolishing ground targets, while having more hit points than any other Premium aircraft of its tier give it the ability to soak up serious punishment, while still dishing out the damage.

Me 209 V4

The Messerschmitt 209 V exemplifies the classic traits of German fighters. Relatively low health and armor are no concern with a top speed of 586 kph, among the fastest planes of its tier, and a combination of a hub-mounted 20mm cannon and a couple of 7.92mm MGs mean taking down enemies fast, before zooming off to safety, is no problem. Though definitely a fighter, the Me.209V excels in boom and zoom situations, where it can use the accuracy of its hub-mounted cannon and its incredible top speed to unleash hails of bullets upon enemies before zooming out of enemy range.
