Contents
Controls
- Improved the control input response times for all control schemes
- Improved the ‘World of Tanks Mouse’ algorithm
- Improved the ‘0.4.1 Mouse’ algorithm
- Improved the processing of elongated key presses
- Improved the camera behavior during low altitude flight
- Implemented a feature to allow players to switch targets between ground targets (assigned to the ‘V’ key by default)
- Implemented option to assign a key to to work in "Press and Hold" or "Single Press" button mode when binding.
- Sniper mode (F) and Bombing mode (H) will be set to "Press and Hold" by default (this can be changed in the control settings menu)
- Implemented option to set horizontal alignment (leveling) on or off.
Aircraft Changes
- Weapon and module configuration changes will now have a greater effect on aircraft performance
- Increased the amount of damage required before the damaged (“yellow”) state will be triggered for warplane wings, engines and tail
- A6M5: synchronized and wing-mounted machine guns can no longer be mounted at the same time
- Pegasus: moved down to Tier I
- Ar.197: moved up to Tier IV, and fixed the aircraft icon colour (in order to correctly denote the carrier-based fighter class)
- Р-40 M-105: reduced the maximum speed
- Р-77: altered the engine power to more accurately match historical values
- Р-51А: increased the dive speed
Economics
- Introduced a full economic system for bullets/shells, rockets and bombs and their associated cost
- As a result of the introduction of ammo costs, reduced the repair costs for warplanes of all tiers
Interface
- Added the necessary UI elements for warplane maintenance within the Hangar: Ammo, Repair, Equipment
- Fixed and corrected the Tech Trees and modules for all nations
- Reworked both the short and detailed/expanded characteristic displays for each aircraft in the Hangar
- Added the ability to display player nicknames (assigned to the ‘Alt’ key by default)
- Added the ability to alter the size of the in-game mini map, using the ‘+’ and ‘-’ keys
- Redesigned the battle interface
Equipment, Consumables, and Ammunition
- Added the following types of equipment (available for purchase, and mountable/selectable, within the ‘Modules’ menu in the Hangar):
- scopes (optical, reflex, gyro, radio)
- aircraft lacquer
- reinforced skins (fabric, wood, metal)
- Added the following types of consumables (available for purchase, and mountable/selectable within the ‘Maintenance’ menu in the Hangar):
- first-aid bandage pack => crew treatment
- manual fire extinguishers => fire fighting
- 100-octane and 120-octane fuel => increased afterburner capacity
Consumable use will be assigned to the ‘1’, ‘2’ and ‘3’ keys (by default)
- Added the ability to switch between different types of ammunition prior to battle, as well as the option to change the number of bombs and rockets being carried (both accessible through the new ‘Maintenance’ menu in the Hangar)
Superiority Game Mode
- Ground targets will now consist of several individual, separately destructible objects: for example, a single anti-aircraft gun might now be replaced by a battery of four anti-aircraft guns
- Altered the HP of all destructible ground objects
- Destroying a base ground target, or Headquarters, will now lead to a weakening of the anti-aircraft fire from the remaining team turrets
- Increased the rate at which Superiority is accrued, but also increased the amount of Superiority advantage lost when a ground target is destroyed
- All ground targets, on both teams, will now be visible from the start of battle, and bases/Headquarters will be denoted by a separate icon
Gameplay
- Boost and engine damage changes, as follows:
- The boost will now be continuously available until such time as the engine overheats
- Altered the durations of the engine heating/cooling when using the boost
- The boost will no longer be available once the engine enters a damaged (“yellow”) state
- Heavily damaged (“red”) engines will now stall for a short period of time
- Weapon spread mechanic changes, as follows:
- Spread will be increased when firing upwards
- Spread will be increased when shooting during a turn
- Spread will now be dependent on aircraft speed, with increased values at low speeds and decreased values at high speeds
- Greatly improved the efficiency of tail gunner firing
- Reduced the bomb damage done to ally aircraft
- Reduced the bomb fuse delay
- Improved the logic used in the low altitude warnings displayed in-game (so that now these will be displayed only if there is an immediate danger of collision with the ground)
Graphics, Rendering, and Display
- Added new tracers
- Introduced new clouds for all maps
- Corrected the in-game propeller rotation speed display
- Improved the appearance of trees and plants within the game
- Changed the behavior of the camera within the Hangar
- Adjusted the post-processing applied to each of the maps
- Added the ability to alter the gamma values used in-game
Sound
- Added new sounds for the engines of all German planes (recorded from the real engines of rebuilt and restored WWII aircraft)
- Added new voice messages in battle (where, after 250 battles, these will automatically change into a shortened version of the message)
- Added new music for the ‘Arctic’ map
Chat
- Ability to save private messages (last 100 messages)
- Added context menu in the message area of the chat box and in the list of channel participants
- Optimized the look of the UI chat window, especially for multiple messages in different windows
- Adjusted notification system for unread messages, taking into acount the large number of open rooms
- Added ability to create open group channels. 10 channels maximum.
- Added ability to save chat window states when entering and exiting the game
- Added ability to for player to see channels tab, last 10 channels visited
- Added ability to delete the created channel; player can delete channels they create
- Added ability to invite player to a channel by dragging their username in window of group channel
- Added display of create channels in the Channels tab
Matchmaker
- Tier VII planes will not get into tier X matches, unless they are part of a group of higher tier aircraft.
Known Problems
- Client may crash when minimizing, maximizing, or resizing of window
- Strongly recommended that players use latest video card drivers
