Throughout the summer and fall of 1940, arguably the greatest aerial battle was fought in the skies above Britain. The German Luftwaffe, determined to crush Britain’s aerial defenses launched a ceaseless wave of aircraft to attack and terrify the resilient British. Despite a disadvantage in both trained pilots and aircraft, the British Royal Air Force would eventually emerge victorious.
