Pilots!
We wanted to know more about this awesome community member who contributes volumes of articles to our forums. Be sure to check out Komadant's, and his team’s, ideas for a Serbian tech tree and videos of the Beslin B12 on the forum. We asked Komadant a few questions via email, and this is what he had to say:
I am from little country in South-East Europe on Balkan Peninsula called, The Republic of Serbia.
If I answer this question, you’ll know my age and say, "Man, you are old." For 20+ years!
Professionally, I work as an Information Communication Technology Manager in a development agency working with European, national and regional projects, cities, municipalities, institutions, etc... Everything ICT is my interest, so I’m very good in different aspects of ICT industry for a past 20+ yrs.
When not working, I’m a manager in football (soccer) club where I spend time training kids, juniors, and youth players. We are well-known in my country/region for developing talent in kids and educating them about football.
As you probably noticed, one of my hobbies is also airplanes and aviation in general, history of the world, mechanics, etc.
For the past year and several months, my main activities besides my work are my Serbian Team, we had an idea of implementing a Serbian Tech Tree into the World of Warplanes Game. To make a long story short, visit our topic on WoWP Game forum and you'll find information and the recent work we have done.
The Serbian Team is an informal association of aviation enthusiasts and professional individuals from different fields who collaborate. The Serbian Team was founded in March 2012 by laufer982 aka Komadant on the NA Server. Currently, Serbian Team has around 30 members in 5 sections (Section 1: Design & Graphics, Section 2: History & Information, Section 3: Logistics and Negotiation, Section 4: Management, Section 5: PR & Community) involved in making our ideas come true.
The Overall objective of the Serbian Team is to foster diversity in World of Warplanes. One of our specific objectives is to implement Serbian Tech Tree in World of Warplanes. Our idea is to try to make a circle of friends all over the world who are willing, enthusiastic, creative, skilled in 3D graphics, design, etc. to join us in our idea to create not only the Serbia tech tree, but tech trees for all nations that are not in the game.
So far, the Serbian Team has designed 13 of 21 airplanes for 1930-1950 that are made in Serbia and are in our proposed Tech Tree for World of Warplanes and 1 airplane as support and gift to Poland Team. We participated in making of movie “Century of Daring” celebrating 100 years of Serbian Air Force 1912-2012. Also we are creating our trailer for Serbian Tech Tree and airplanes. The Serbian Team has full support and partnership with: 1. President of the Republic of Serbia, 2. Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, 3. Serbian Armed Forces, 4. Air Force and Air Defense Command, 5. Chiron – School for creative technologies, 6. Phoenix Creative Studio, 7. Military-technical magazine, 8. Air Force Museum, 9. Experts, Individuals, members of official World of Warplane forums.
We have raised our internal capacity and individual skill for planning, organizing and management of large scale projects. One of our latest activates was organizing online birthday event to celebrate our team's first year by creating the Wingman's Tournament that the WG community management team has supported and hosted for European server players.
Was in military, survived 2 wars...one in 1992, the second in 1999.
Approximately 2 years.
I’m proud that many people who are enthusiastic, skilled and have experience are involved in this game’s development. I am also glad that my posts about aviators and aviation are tickling people minds and making them explore more, comment on research, and be more familiar with other nation’s aviation history. As to my recent accomplishments in WoWP, I must say that it is the anniversary of Serbian Team and organization of online Wingman’s Tournament 2v2 on EU server with a help of our friends and partners.
From WW2:
From the jet era:
I Enjoy flying in the game, and making other players fall from the skies.
Aviation in general, but I think more importantly it is that we get to see diversity! Letting other players around the world see the aircraft of countries like Italy, Poland, France, Serbia, Romania, Britain, Czech, etc.
Be open minded with tactics, help game diversity and know your enemy in the skies.
Hmm probably Pacific due to the mix of different terrains and possibilities. This takes much more advantage of maneuvering in high rigs and steep slopes and low flybys over ports. I know developers are doing good work with maps and hoping that new ones in future will be even better.
The Serbian Tech Tree trailer will be posted soon on our Serbia Tech Tree topic. Until then I am sending you my best regards, I wish you clear skies.
Thank you so much, Komadant, for all your awesome contributions to the community. You are very much noticed, and we so appreciate all that you and your team does!
