The Battle of Berlin (April 16-May 9, 1945) was Germany's final organized stand. Supported by fighters and attack aircraft, The Soviet-led offensive on the city advanced quickly from the south and east, moving inwards. It faced fierce yet ineffective resistance from a depleted German army.
