Pilots,
As you might already know, the 1.6 Public Test Server is live and if you’re already taking part in the test, then you'll have seen one of the major highlights -- the introduction of five new Premium tier VII aircraft. These Premiums are prepped and ready to soar into the skies of World of Warplanes!
Here is a brief overview of each of the new Premium aircraft that will soon be in World of Warplanes!

This fighter can best be summarized as a Yak-3 with a powerful jet engine. However, there is more to the Yak-3RD than just the added propulsion, compared to the Yak-3, this Premium fighter comes with increased durability, giving it higher survivability chances. Additionally, the stronger engine allows for a significant boost to the plane’s rate of climb and overall velocity. The fact that it also retains its amazing 13 second average time to turn ratio, despite the added horsepower, comes as an additional feat. Lastly, the engine raises the Yak-3RDs operational ceiling to an impressive 1,800m – a first, not only for the Yak line of aircraft, but for all low-flying tier VII Soviet aircraft. |
This unique American heavy fighter differentiates itself from its competition through an amazing rate of climb that is unrivalled by any other plane of its tier. This warbird has no trouble reaching the highest altitudes, flying far above its enemies and picking apart its prey. Once the XP-75 has its sights set on an enemy target, it benefits greatly by having one of the fastest diving speeds, making this aircraft ideal for Boom & Zoom tactics where it can descend on opponents out of nowhere and quickly return back above the clouds. The Eagle lacks in hull durability and firepower, but what it lacks in punch it makes up for in speed, as almost no other warplane can keep up with it on the battlespace. |
You could have already won this Premium British fighter during our Meteor Madness. Now, with Update 1.6, it becomes available to everybody as a Premium contender. This warbird constituted the first real jet-engine aircraft of the Allies during WWII, which is reflected in game through the plane’s characteristics. The Meteor has above-average speed across the board in all speed categories and features a good rate of climb – usually only found on heavy fighters. While it is somewhat limited in terms of firepower with its 20mm cannons, the aircraft proves to be a natural talent hunting down all types of plane classes due to its versatile profile -- set arguably between a slow flying jet fighter and medium-armoured heavy. |
This experimental Japanese fighter might remind you a lot of the American P-38 “Lightning”, except for the fact that its propeller is mounted at the rear of the cockpit. As such, it is a unique aircraft to behold. Compared to the J7W1, the Senden features a higher velocity and considerably higher optimum altitude, which is unreached in the Japanese Tech Tree – even by tier X jets. In direct comparison to the same-tier A7M, the J4M Senden boasts significantly stronger firepower, thanks to a pre-mounted 30mm cannon, as well as better durability and speed. With characteristics like this, one can safely say that the J4M Senden is as close as the Japanese tech tree gets (for now) to having a true heavy fighter. |
