Pilots!
Wargaming recently visited Florida to host a booth at the International Plastic Modeler Society's 2012 Convention. We had a great time talking with all the people who attended the event; we could not have felt more welcome. There were a surprising number of individuals who were Wargaming players who showed up just to meet us. A few were even involved in the World of Warplanes beta. Most of them ended up buying several models by the end of their visit.
At the show we had World of Tanks and World of Warplanes set up for demo. We were swamped with how many people were interested in playing the game for the first time, or just stealing the opportunity to play with event accounts (all tanks, crew skills, and all planes unlocked!). A few lucky people who showed real enthusiasm for World of Warplanes were even fast tracked into the beta after they got to try it out.
Perhaps the most impressive part of the gathering was the show room floor, there were hundreds of entries for the various model competitions. My only regret is that I didn't take a few pictures of every last entry.
Unfortunately, we didn't have the greatest camera, but check out a few of the pics from the show room floor!
As much time as we spent oggling on the entries for the competition, we still found time to check out all the vendors. This little beauty caught my eye. Sadly, it isn't available in 1/48 scale until the end of this year.
It was an incredible experience to hang out with all those passionate modelers and historians. If you've never made it to a convention like this we here at Wargaming highly recommend that you take the time to find out when the next one is in your area. Take a few minutes to share any pictures of your own aircraft models in the comments!
