The Battle of Kasserine Pass, which took place near the end of February 1943, was a battle during the Tunisia Campaign where American and British units faced off against the Axis Powers. Kasserine Pass was a real test for the U.S. as it was the first encounter against battle-tested German forces. Although American troops suffered large casualties, the assistance of the British army greatly helped turn the tide in the Allies favor.
