The Battle of Leyte Gulf took place this week in October 1944. Axis and Allied naval forces clashed over four days. As they battled for control of the Philippine Sea, the fighting ultimately exhausted the Japanese navy, and marked the decline of the country's naval dominance during World War II.

Time is running out on completing our rare challenge: earn 25,000 base XP this week, and be rewarded with a American YP-29! Additionally, take advantage of discounted U.S. and Japanese warplanes, and missions designed to re-create this 70 year-old battle.
