Update 2.0.1 marks our fourth anniversary, and we’re celebrating with tons of cool specials and many improvements since the last update.

Anniversary Celebrations
We’re adding a new anniversary Hangar, and two exclusive Premium planes:

  1. Borovkov-Florov I-207/4 (Soviet tier IV multirole fighter)
Earn yours by completing special anniversary missions!
  2. We’re also offering the Ilyushin IL-1 (Soviet tier VI multirole fighter) for a limited-time sale around that time.

Look forward to more details!

Other Changes

  • User interface improvements including artificial horizon, altimeter implementation, and improvements to optimal speed and altitude indicators
  • Added back the option for manual flap control
  • Adjusted tutorial missions
  • Adjusted some Conquest Mode conditions
  • “Assemble Your Bomber” event ends with this update -- the three new bombers remain available for Tokens until February 1, and they’ll be added as normal Premium bombers after

Conquest Game Mode

We changed the ground target composition in specific sectors to make it clearer which aircraft types can most efficiently defend or capture it.

  • Garrison: All garrisons now have an identical average composition of ground targets
  • Forward Airstrip, Airbase: Reduced number of ground targets
  • Mining Plant, Military Base, and Command Center: Changed composition of ground targets -- extra targets with AA guns added, with slight changes to total number, armor, and value of the ground targets in these sectors.

Changed number of AA guns in sectors:

  • Garrison: Two light and two high-altitude guns
  • Forward Airstrip: Two light guns
  • Mining Plant: Six high-altitude guns
  • Airbase: Six light guns
  • Military Base: Four light and six high-altitude guns
  • Command Center: Six light and four high-altitude AA guns

Changed the number of capture points required to take control of different sectors or retake them from the enemy.

  • To capture a neutral sector, team A must earn a certain amount of capture points over team B.
  • To retake a sector from team B, team A must earn a certain number of capture points, while team B defending the sector must earn capture points by destroying the attacking aircraft from team A at the same time. Team B’s are deducted from the result of team A’s attack.

Required number of capture points by sectors:

  • Garrison: 90 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 120 capture points to capture an enemy sector.
  • Staging Airfield: 90 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 120 capture points to capture an enemy sector.
  • Mining Plant: 140 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 180 capture points to capture an enemy sector.
  • Airbase: 140 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 180 capture points to capture an enemy sector.
  • Military Base: 140 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 180 capture points to capture an enemy sector.
  • Command Center: 140 capture points to capture a neutral sector, 180 capture points to capture an enemy sector.

Advanced Control and Interface Settings

Responding to feedback from experienced players, we added options to the advanced control and interface settings that were available in previous updates:

  • Added the option for assigning a key for manual flaps control in Mouse settings
  • Added advanced settings for fine-tuning mouse control – you can now disable automatic flaps as and adjust your rate of roll and level-off settings
  • Added option to enable attitude indicator that shows aircraft pitch and bank in relation to the horizon
  • Added option to enable altimeter scale (barometric) that shows your aircraft’s optimum altitude margin, flight ceiling, range where the aircraft performance is reduced, and the critical altitude where only level flight is possible
  • Added option for enabling the speed indicator scale that shows the optimum speed margin, marks for dangerously low and high speed, and critical speed values leading to aircraft stall or dramatic decrease in maneuverability.

New Aircraft

New exclusive Premium aircraft:

  • Borovkov-Florov I-207/4 (Soviet tier IV multirole fighter)
  • Ilyushin IL-1 (Soviet tier VI multirole fighter)

Developers, Supertesters and other special contributors can also test the McDonnell XF-85 Goblin, an American tier IX fighter.

End of "Assemble Your Bomber"

This update concludes this event, where you completed daily missions to receive special loot crates containing parts of the three new bombers Blenheim Mk IV (e.), Douglas A-26B, and Myasishchev RB-17.

If you missed one or more, don’t despair, you can still purchase their aircraft Tokens until February 1 2018. If you earned a bomber parts during the event, they’ll be converted into a discount on the final in-game Token price for the bomber.

World of Warplanes Fourth Anniversary

Hop in and take flight for a November 10 Anniversary event with a temporary festive Hangar and a chain of missions to earn the Borovkov-Florov I-207/4 November 10-12.

Change to “Combat Reconnaissance” Training Mission Chain

We changed the conditions of some “Combat Reconnaissance” training missions: We made missions fulfilled in neutral sectors able to be finished in any sector, while we simplified some more difficult training missions.

Other

  • Added opening bomb bay doors animation for Attack Flight bombers
  • Changed appearance of an aircraft scheme for canard aircraft battle in interface
  • Increased the display time of a map ping animation issued by Ctrl+click and the quick command animation on the minimap and radar.
  • Added figures and letters designating grid squares to minimap frame.

Optimizations and Bugfixes

  • Fixed some problems critical game errors
